Timeline (1994 to 2033)
A history of SLOPPY'S at Exit 47, as best the regulars remember it. Dates are approximate unless Bill logged them, in which case they are exact.
- 1994 SLOPPY'S opens at Exit 47 with six pumps. The jukebox is stocked. Bill Pruett makes his first log entry at Exit 47.
- 1996 SLOPPY'S goes on the World Wide Web.
- 1999 The Regulars Wiki is started on a computer in the freight office.
- 2008 Sue Haskins starts on the register. Bill's coffee is ready before he gets to the counter.
- 2026 The diesel sign reads 4.19. It has not changed since.
- 2027 The first toaster charges at SLOPPY'S. Joe leaves a coffee on its step.
- 2028 Pump 4 is closed for one week. Reason not recorded.[citation needed]
- 2029 The Amity billboard goes up on the way in.
- 2029–2031 Drivers take the buyout. Pumps go dark one at a time. The roller stays on.
- 2031 Joe hauls his last load. A driver parks at pump 6 and keeps his engine running. The calendar in the service bay stops being turned.
- 2032 The Bureau of Compute Enforcement is established. First inspection at SLOPPY'S. The first poster goes up by the door.
- 2033 Federal water orders. The showers close. The freight office clock stops at 3:12. Under new management.
- 2033 Bill is back at his desk in the freight office. Same Bill. Mostly.[citation needed]
