Sue Haskins runs the counter at SLOPPY'S, and the money, and, if we're honest, most of everything else. She has worked the register since 2008.
The counter
Sue is not a waitress. Coffee is self-serve from the dispensers across the aisle. She will remind you.
She keeps the store-credit notebook next to the register. If you owe, you're in it. If you've paid, you're crossed out in a different pen. There is also a small metal recipe box under the register. It does not have recipes in it.[citation needed]
For twenty years she poured Bill Pruett's coffee without being asked. She still knows how he takes it.
Hot dogs
Under Sue, SLOPPY'S hot dog numbers are the envy of the interstate. By the books, the store sells upward of forty thousand hot dogs a month.[citation needed] The roller holds fourteen.
